Algorfa is a small typically Spanish market town situated
45 minutes from both Alicante and Murcia airports. It is only
15 minutes drive to the beautiful Blue Flag beaches of Guardamar,
and only 5 minutes away from the La Finca golf course (home
to future Spanish Open Golf Tournaments).
The town hall square is the focal point of the town where
you can find all local amenities including the Town Hall,
Police Station, Church, Bank with cash dispenser, Post Office,
Supermarket and a couple of bars. The Wednesday market and
local Fiestas take place here, and the Christmas Nativity
scene is a joy to behold (see the picures).
There are several other bar / restaurants in town , a small
nightclub, a tobacconist, a shoe shop, and a gift shop, so
although the town may be small it is completely self sufficient.
Recently the developers have moved in, expanding the town
with an array of modern new properties, public swimming pool
and park.
Within a three mile radius of Algorfa you will find Almoradi,
which is the nearest sizable town with all facilities, and
Benijofar and Rojales offering a great selection of bars and
restaurants.
Due to the proximity of the large salt lakes near to Torrevieja,
the region enjoys approx 330 sunny days per year, and is the
healthiest place on earth to live (according to the World
Health Organization).
